Editorial policy
Curious Theatre Review aims to make theatre easier to think about without flattening its ambiguity. We explain our reasoning, take care with factual details and make the nature of any paid or partner material clear to readers.
Accuracy and interpretation
We check factual statements against suitable sources and distinguish them from analysis, opinion or interpretation. When discussing a play or performance, we avoid presenting an interpretation as the only possible one. We do not claim first-hand experience of a production unless the piece clearly establishes that basis.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions remain separate from commercial arrangements. Paid or partner material is labelled so readers can recognise it, and a partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or editorial approval. We do not accept terms that require us to disguise promotional material as independent editorial work.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us with the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making a clear note where a change materially affects the meaning. We do not silently change a substantive error and leave readers unable to tell.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be AI-generated. Where that is the case, we label the illustration so it is not mistaken for documentary evidence, a production photograph or an image of a real performance.
